Trinamool Congress (TMC) National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has issued a stern directive to all panchayats, municipalities, and state ministers, emphasizing the need for performance and accountability ahead of the 2026 elections. Banerjee, before taking a brief break, has made it clear that any failure to meet developmental promises will not be tolerated, and underperforming officials should be prepared to resign.
Banerjee's instructions come as part of a strategic policy aimed at ensuring that promises made during his Navjwar Yatra are fulfilled promptly. During this statewide tour, Banerjee made several commitments to the people, focusing on crucial sectors such as health, education, drinking water, and road development.
In a firm statement, Banerjee emphasized, "No laxity will be tolerated in health, education, drinking water, and road development. The time has come to fulfill all the promises I made to the people by touring the districts during the Navjwar Yatra. Now those promises should be fulfilled within a few months."
Banerjee has made it clear that all TMC representatives, from panchayat members to high-ranking officials in municipalities and corporations, as well as state ministers, must perform or face the consequences. "Whoever is a panchayat representative or holds a big post in a municipality or corporation, as well as a minister in the state, if he is not able to perform, then he has no right to stay in that post. I will ask for his resignation," Banerjee stated.
